Green! We got home and have been reveling in the GLOWING green of our country! Time away makes me appreciate things I often take for granted.

LOL! I miss the sky in Wyoming, the endless expanse of blue during the day and the Milkyway at night...

And growing like a weed! I think I need to remove a couple of the lower branches this winter to give it a better shape...

I can certainly understand. I've always loved the west and the beauty that is found there.

Ah, but you have eyes that see; most people drive through it as fast as they can until they get to the coast or skip the whole thing and fly. They never stop to look and probably could not see what is there if they did. Their idea of "life" is concrete and steel, bright lights and loud music.
I have spent days sitting half-way up a mountain watching the goings on in the valley below and have discovered whole new aspects of life in what would appear, to the casual observer, an un-inhabited grassland...

Sigh; in the vernacular, Thoreau got nothin' on me.

I'm not a city person. Never have been. The thing that impressed the UT students in the classes at Cyprus was Agia Napa. It was least impressive, I thought.

Beauty is an aesthetic which, as far as I'm concerned, must be redefined according to the type of countryside you're in. I find beauty in all kinds of landscapes. I fail to find beauty, however, in tourist traps which have no historic or cultural value. :D
