Main Gauche Weight: 1 lb [454 g] Blade Length: 14 in [35.5 cm]
Light, fast and long this is the type of blade carried for use in the off hand when fighting with rapiers and other light swords. The wide guard gives good protection and blocking ability while the ring guard protects the back of the off hand from sword cuts. The long thin blade is perfect for thrusting in close quarters.
The scabbard is shown in the frog [so called because the piece of leather from which it is made looks like a spread-eagled squished frog before it is riveted together] which hangs on the belt leaving the weapon at the proper angle for rapid and effective deployment.
The white powder on the blade is a type of micro-crystalline wax used in museums to preserve iron and steel. I was too lazy to remove it; actually, I was too lazy to spend the hour it would take to put it back on...
But I need more! I can think of many that I don't have examples of, sigh.

It can be. You can get cheap imitations made using materials such as stainless steel which may look a great deal like an original but which have nearly none of the properties which made the originals what they were, or you can get those made with carbon steel and properly tempered which are copies of known originals and are fully functional in all respects. It is these that I acquire as I may and, if at all possible, an original - almost guaranteed to "break the bank"...

I like to avoid fighting with ANY rappers. These cheaters carry guns! OH wait...you said when fighting with rapiers. My bad.
These weapons make me feel sorry for anyone stupid enough to break in to your house. If that does happen, I hope that the perp shits him or her self before trying to escape.
Yah, you gotta be careful not to get into it with anyone carrying a rapper...
Da Buppies would probably eat him before I could get a lick in...

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
